  • Yes. Then you must look through your adoption certificate at the Child Adoption Authority (usually it is the childcare authority of your birth-place). However, even if the adoption certificate is unavailable, Liebe-Menschen-Wiederfinden can undertake a search attempt on account that the first- and lastname of the person in question are known.^

  • Some time ago I gave permission that my child be adopted. Could you find him/her for me now ?

  • In accordance with the statements of  1758 BGB ( prohibition of trace investigation) searchwork for an adopted child is forbidden. In this case the board in charge of adoption at the Child Adoption Authority can contact the adopter-family and inform them of your wish. So please, address yourself to the authority that fulfilled the formalities of the adoption procedure.^

  • Who is supposed to undertake the first contact with the localized person ?

  • During one-person-search it happens through Liebe-Menschen-Wiederfinden. We notify the wanted person of the fact of  his/her being looked for, our client's name and make clear that the person agrees to maintain the contact. All through this procedure it is your interests that we represent.^

  • May I contact the found person myself ?

  • If you wish, we can also redirect on your behalf a letter of yours onto the person you want to contact.^

  • What if the person to be found refuses to contact me ?

  • It is possible, though such cases are usually quite a rare exception as well as a bitter disappointment for both sides: one can't eventually establish the contact one's been longing for, whereas we cannot but regard the completion of the task as successful though it is in fact rather a failure (because all the hopes fall flat). But please to take into consideration that our preliminary explanation of all the possible intricacies of your case can spare you the unnecessary disappointment. Maybe the right time for your attempt has not simply come yet. But no matter what result - we can always forward your letter to the person in question hoping that the second chance turns up fruitful. And of course, we promise to ask the person to contact Liebe-Menschen-Wiederfinden some time later in order to arrange via the agency a connection with you. ^

  • What if the person I'm looking for is no more alive ?

  • In this case the result of the searchwork performed by Liebe-Menschen-Wiederfinden is interpreted as successful. All relevant data concerning the case - as to the date and place of death etc. - will be directed to you. Whenever possible and with your consent, we can mediate during the aarangement of a contact between you and the person's remaining relatives.^

  • Will all people found during group-search be contacted with ?

  • No, only if the person's current address is available. Then you can yourself surprise him/her with an unexpected invitation to a class-reunion..^

  • I'd like to find a dear person for someone else, organize a class-reunion. Must he/she be informed about it ?

  • This is not necessary. Wouldn't it better remain a surprise ?^

  • How long does the searchwork usually last ?

  • It is usually rather difficult to name any definite terms in advance. The period of data retrieval process may vary from a couple of days up to a whole contract-year. But on hand of our previous experience  we can more or less exactly gauge that the amount and the recentness of the initially provided information correspond proportionately to the duration of the searchwork. In case the person has emigrated abroad, the time-aspect will be accordingly prolonged.^

  • Who will be informed of my intention to find the person in question ?

  • If the wanted person is found, we inform him/her already with the first contact-attempt about the identity of our client, i.e. the one who's been looking for him/her. As the matter stands, he/she can also decide, whether he/she wishes to carry on with the communication-arrangement. Apart from that, during searchwork through an authority it is also sometimes necessary that the name of the search-initiator be conveyed. However, the authority staff is bound to professional discretion. ^

  • Do you observe the data security regulations ?

  • Yes, the legally-acknowledged present-day data security regulations are observed by our agency.^
